An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join Paul Crowley & Co’s highly regarded firm based in Anfield.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have the knowledge to process accounting transactions, ensuring financial compliance.
This position will be on a part-time basis (3 days / 22.5 hours per week). However, the successful candidate may need to be flexible to pick up annual leave cover in the Accounts team.
Person Specification & Requirements:
- Proven work experience of processing accounts and purchase ledgers
- Strong time-management and ability to manage own workload
- Knowledge and experience of financial compliance
- Commercially minded
- Personable, confident and articulate communicator
- Pro-active and ‘can do’ attitude
- Knowledge of Anti-money Laundering and the SRA would be advantageous
- Previous experience of working in the legal sector would be advantageous but not necessary
- May have some knowledge and experience of Lexcel Compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounting transactions, both payments received and sent, by bank transfer, cheque or other means
- Handling queries from fee earners and clients
- Purchase ledger
- Ensure financial compliance for the Conveyancing department
- Review employee expenses and raise any concerns, ensuring there are no tax implications for the firm
- Continually check for errors and report any breaches
- Maintain separate client and office ledgers
- Ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations, including but not limited to: Anti-Money Laundering and SRA
- Adhere to process and procedures as directed by the HOD
- Undertake specific training when required and have overall responsibility towards self-development
- Be actively involved in ensuring compliance in Lexcel and other standards
- Ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s and client’s documentation and information by complying with GDPR
- Be actively involved in business development activities and networking
- Undertake any other duties as required by the Directors as necessary for other fee earners and employees
