A series of events are being held in recognition of Small Charity Week 2017. From raising awareness to providing advice, Small Charity Week culminates in a day of celebration on the 24th June.

Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice, Liverpool is the 2017 official sponsored charity of Paul Crowley & Co Solicitors. In February this year we were proud to donate over £11,000 to the baby hospice based in West Derby.

One way that many of our clients chose to support a charity is by leaving a gift to charity in their will. Research by the organization ‘Remember A Charity’ shows that 17% of the public claim to have left a gift to a charity in their will.

It is important not to underestimate the value of a gift to a charity in your will. For small charities especially, these gifts can provide much needed funding to continue their work.

“At Paul Crowley & Co, we are so pleased when any of our clients chooses to leave a legacy to a charity in their will. Whether it is a specific sum of money, a percentage of your residue, or a share of your estate, Paul Crowley & Co can ensure that your wishes are reflected in your will.

The Government recognises the importance of charitable giving, and if you leave 10% or more of the net value of your estate to charity in your will then the rate of Inheritance Tax is significantly reduced.
